The Role

Security Technicians are electronic security experts who perform installations of sophisticated residential and commercial electronic security systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the on-site activity during all phases of the installation and configuration of electronic security and access control systems for our client’s properties.
  • Partake in on the job training for Technicians and expand  security expertise
  • Under the direction of a Project Manager, complete daily and weekly assignments as planned
  • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, site supervisors, project partners, and other trades
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of  others working under you to achieve project objectives for efficiency, quality, and craftsmanship
  • Communicate professionally with the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) during system commissioning and inspection
  • Demonstrate commitment to Concierge level service through prompt response to client requests and needs

Skills and Abilities Required:

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in residential electronic security systems installation or service. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Commercial electronic security systems installation or service.

Additional skills and abilities include:

  • Ability to visualize the sequence of work and convert it to a measureable plan and schedule.
  • Ability to work under pressure, assess multiple demands, and manage priorities
  • Ability to delegate and direct the work of others while creating a positive, learning environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and/or via email, phone, or text to varied audiences
  • Knowledge of residential electronic security and access control systems including awareness of jurisdiction codes, inter-system dependencies, and programming configurations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, assess multiple demands, and manage priorities
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, electronic schematics, and user manuals
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and wiring methods for new construction and retrofit projects
  • Proficient with hand and power tools used to complete physical installations of wiring, sensors, detectors, and panels common to residential security systems
  • Familiar with the use of proper safety equipment for specific tasks and personal protection
  • Ability to perform calculations, analyze reports, and engage in strategic and creative problem solving. Language requirements are reading, writing, and speaking in English
  • Physical requirements include standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, reaching and lifting up to 80 lbs.
